25 years after the release of Green Day’s breakout album Dookie, 15 different bands are coming together for a tribute album.
A different band will cover each of the album’s 15 tracks, including hits like ‘Basket Case’ and ‘When I Come Around’, and even the album’s hidden closing track ‘All By Myself’.
The tribute album is called Gilman Street’s Ripoff and will be out next month. Meanwhile, rumors are swirling that Green Day might be planning a 25th anniversary tour where they perform the full album live.
Do you like tribute albums? What are some of your favorites? What about the ‘play a full album in concert’ trend?
