Throughout the history of rock, guitarists have been known to spend their fortunes collecting more tools of their trade. Jimmy Page reportedly owns more than 1,500 guitars. Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen once kept more than 2,000 on hand. And Keith Richards proudly displays his collection of more than 3,000.

Apparently, Joe Trohman has no interest in following in the footsteps of his famous peers. The Fall Out Boy axman has announced on Twitter he’s selling 27 of his guitars. “Selling of bunch of weird, and not weird, gear on my Reverb shop again!,” Trohman tweets. “Why? Cause I have TOO much sh** that I never use, and would love it if someone would actually do something cool with it.”

Would you pay more than a guitar is worth if it had been owned by a famous musician? Do you collect anything?
