While being a little off the wall has always been a big part of Slipknot’s act, frontman Corey Taylor has just turned his weirdness meter up a notch.
He says he’s thinking of putting together a side band — to play jazz, of all things. “I’ve actually been thinking about doing something like this — putting together a quartet or a quintet and doing a jazz album, like a dark jazz album, and recording it live in a room,” Taylor says. “It won’t sell. It would really just be for my own f***ing personal collection, ’cause I love jazz.”
Meanwhile, Slipknot is slated to begin work on its sixth studio album this month.
Would you be interested in hearing Taylor’s “dark jazz” music? Do you think he’d be able to attract a whole new group of fans?
