Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Doesn’t like Nu-Metal Label

Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor has some type of issue with his band being labeled as “nu-metal.” He told music fans on Twitter to “Beware of labels. Ignore that s*** and do what you do.
But one fan then told Taylor that his band was nu-metal because Slipknot had a DJ in the band. That’s when Taylor challenged with “That’s your only reason why we’re nu metal? Get a f***ing clue. I’m not in the mood today.”
Taylor then washed his hands of the conversation after someone else tweeted “You guys play metal but not traditional. Hint nu-metal.” Taylor responded with “I think you’re a person more concerned with genres than music. You do you. I’ll be over here being right.”
